This is a webinar organized by our sister society STANZ from New Zealand:

What Smoking Weed and Investing in The Stock Market Have in Common (or why the markets are trending and how to take advantage of it).

When: Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM MEZ

Topic: Technical analysis, mainly associated with drawing lines on charts, has evolved in recent years towards data analysis based on statistics, algorithms and other advanced tools. Thanks to the use of computers, every chart can now be analyzed much more thoroughly, for example to define the character of the price. This facilitates not only the precise selection of the right trading strategy for specific stocks, but also the estimation of the potential profits of the strategy in the future. The simplest method is to determine the level of trendiness, i.e. to what extent a given price is trending and to what extent is mean reversion. Thanks to this, we know on which charts it is worth using trend following strategies and on which it is better to catch tops and bottoms. This way, it is easier to build a basket of stocks matching our personal trading preferences and strategies used.
